The release of all new emoji is still awaiting. Fortunately, the Unicode Consortium, the organization that approves emoji and makes it suitable for all devices, still has a warming up for us. 217 new emoji will appear in 2021.

217 emoji for iOS in 2021
217 new emoji That’s quite a bit. However, 200 of these are new skin tones for existing emoji. In addition, there will also be a wider choice of gender variations for the couple emoji: gender neutral, female-female, male-male and female-male.
Of the remaining seventeen emoji, twelve are aimed at Person with beard. Here, too, the emoji offer the opportunity to make a gender-neutral choice. There will be six male and six female variants of the emoji.
Five more emoji to go. The good news is, these are all new smiley and heart emoji. Three new smileys have been added, including a face that blows out, a head in the clouds and a face with spinning eyes.
The new heart emoji have the names Mending Heart in Heart on Fire. If there is any doubt about the meaning of this emoji, the first heart emoji is the opposite of the broken heart. While the flaming heart can be used to represent desire or lust, or it can indicate a feeling of burning a past love and moving on.
With which iOS update can we expect the new emoji?
The release of the new 217 emoji depends on Apple. The package of these new images is also known as the Emoji 13.1 package. The emoji are ready for implementation, it remains to be seen with which update of iOS the emoji make their official appearance.
To be clear: with the release van iOS 14 last week, Apple did not catalog any new emoji, including the emoji that were already approved in March 2020.
This is no surprise, as Apple usually doesn’t add emoji to the first iOS version. In previous years, the emoji updates appeared in iOS 11.1, iOS 12.1 and iOS 13.2. So we expect to have to wait a little longer for the new batch of emoji, which will appear with iOS 14.1 or 14.2. Emoji package 13.1 is expected to be released in 2021.
