These 2 New Rules For Prospective Train Passengers Traveling Long and Local

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI is now setting new rules for prospective long -distance train passengers.

Starting today, Tuesday (10/26/2021), all prospective long-distance train passengers, both adults and children, are required to include a resident identification number (NIK) when buying tickets.

Likewise for prospective foreign passengers, must include the identity number listed in the passport.

VP of Public Relations of KAI Joni Martinus explained these provisions to support government programs in the effort to use the NIK in all public service sectors.

This is in accordance with Presidential Regulation Number 83 of 2021 concerning Inclusion and Utilization of NIK and or Taxpayer Identification Numbers in Public Services.

In addition, the rules for using NIK and passports are also useful for validating the vaccination status and Covid-19 examination of prospective customers.

“KAI has integrated the PeduliLindung application with the PeduliLindung system boarding KAI. Thus, vaccination data will be automatically verified in the process boarding,” said Martinus in his written statement, Tuesday (26/10).

Martinus further explained that the requirement to include a NIK applies to prospective long-distance passengers from Gambir Station, Pasar Senen, Bekasi, Cikampek, Karawang.
