Tuataras can live up to about 100 years.
4. Shark
The ancestor of sharks evolved shark-like forms more than 450 million years ago, during the Silurian period. They have survived every major extinction event since the ocean was filled with Trilobites. Some species of shark have even developed the ability to emit light in the dark.
5. Lizard
This one reptile has many of the same genetic traits as ancient animals. However, lizards are only distantly related to archosaurs. Lizards have extreme adaptability. This is the key to their survival in the face of several significant extinction events.
6. Crab
