Thermal power plant in Ukraine damaged by the Russian attack on 17 October

According to preliminary information, 3 people were injured. They were promptly provided with medical assistance and taken to hospital.

According to the press service, this is not the first DTEK Energy facility to be attacked by Russian troops in the past week. On 10-11 October, Burshtynskaya TPP, Ladyzhinskaya TPP and Pridneprovskaya TPP were attacked.

“Today, the company’s energy equipment has been damaged by the strikes. When the security situation resolves, the employees of the thermal power plant will inspect the damage and start working to eliminate the consequences and resume work,” the statement read.

DTEK said that for safety, only the extremely necessary employees are present at the station. Everyone else is working remotely.

As reported by RBC-Ukraine, “Ukrenergo” dispatch center may decide to apply power failure programs due to damage to energy infrastructure on October 17.
