Therese Johaug has been declared almost ready for the home WC in Trondheim next year.

The Norwegian does not understand why.

– Jeez, who decided that? she says.

The 35-year-old cross-country skier won in superior style as she returned to the track after almost two years.

It was before the comeback that several media stated that it is only the beginning.

And afterwards as NRK asked about the headlines.

– I saw it in bed and thought “Oh, have I decided on the WC in Trondheim?”, says Johaug to NRK and continues.

“The only thing I can confirm”

– Jeez, who decided that? At least not me!

But it seems to have been the Norwegian himself who set the wheel in motion.

– I want and hope to be there. But of course it’s a lot of work, Johaug told the organizer before the comeback race, according to NRK.

Something she therefore chooses to develop.

– The only thing I can confirm is that I haven’t decided at all. Now I want to train, get back in suitable shape and make a decision in due time, she says.

Therese Johaug already has 14 WC gold medals on her merit list. The championship in Trondheim will be decided between 26 February and 9 March 2025.
