Ski star Therese Johaug (33) has on New Year’s Eve shared good news about herself and her boyfriend Nils Jakob Hoff (36).

In the picture she has a ring with a large stone on the ring finger.
– 2021 hid the best in the end. Happy New Year, Johaug writes in a post posted on Instagram and Facebook.
The photo was taken outdoors, both are wearing high-necked wool sweaters. In the background you can see snow and mountains.
It was in 2014 that it became known that the two were lovers.
– I do not like to talk about my private life, so I will not say anything more, Johaug said to VG in Kuusamo in 2014.
Hoff also commented on the relationship then:
– She is a beautiful girl, and I feel lucky, the Bergen native wrote in a text message to VG.
Hoff is a former rower and has a World Cup gold from 2013 in double sculls. He took bronze in the European Championships the same year and the year before, and also participated in the Olympics in 2012 and 2016. He retired as a rower in 2019.
–The two girlfriends have had a low public profile since 2014.
After Johaug’s comeback season, in the wake of the 18-month ban, the two commented on why they want to keep the relationship relatively private.
– The most important thing is that we have each other. We do not need to show it to the whole of Norway: Look at us, we have it so innmari good. We want to live as normally as possible and be who we are without it being very taken on, Johaug said then.
– So there will be no kissing in the target area?
– No, God. (Big and a lot of laughter.) We can do Kline at home, Johaug said.
– Could not have done it without him
But after her first World Cup victory in the comeback season, 988 days after the previous World Cup victory, Johaug opened up about how important Hoff had been to her during the months away from the ski circus.
Johaug lost both the World Cup and the Olympics as a result of the doping verdict, and without Hoff she would have thrown in her skis and put up.
– I would not have managed this without him, Johaug added VG after the comeback victory in 2018.
– If it had not been for him, you would have quit?
– Yes, Johaug replied.
On New Year’s Eve, VG tried to get a comment from Johaug, without success. She does not go to the Tour de Ski, but has the Olympics in February as her big goal.
