More criticism for Antoine Griezmann. The French player is considered not to contribute anything and make Barcelona like playing with 10 people.
Griezmann was back in his bad season at Barcelona. Having appeared productive at the start of the year, Griezmann’s goal taps stalled again, after not scoring since 3 February.
That means Griezmann went through 10 matches without scoring a goal and only donated three assists. The last time Griezmann scored a goal was when he broke into Granad’s goal twice in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals.
Obviously this condition is worrying considering that Barcelona once again have to rely on Lionel Messi, who fortunately is even sharp, scoring more than 10 goals earlier in the year.
Ironically, Griezmann has always been trusted as a starter, including when Barcelona were eliminated by Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 of the Champions League. That put the French forward back in the spotlight.
According to former Barcelona striker from 1990 to 1997, Hristo Stoickhov, Griezmann’s presence in the team had no impact. In fact, Barcelona is like playing with 10 people, because of zero contributions from the 29-year-old player.
