Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The rumors of the emergence of many new cars at the end of the year turned out to have an impact on car sales in October 2021. Toyota dealer salespeople admitted that many potential customers deliberately withheld orders because they wanted to see the new cars first.
“Many, there are some of my customers too, he said he’ll let me know when there’s detailed news. Just me, there are 3-4 people who are deliberately waiting,” said Toyota Saleswoman in Jakarta, who declined to be named to CNBC Indonesia, Tuesday (26/7/21).
The dealers can’t do much if consumers prefer to wait for a new car. If you push to buy the current model, the risk is that consumers will run to other dealers. In order to keep consumers willing to make transactions, the choice is to supply new car information when there are developments.
“This morning there were also those who wanted to buy the current model (Avanza) Veloz GR, but he said he could bear it, instead of regretting it, I’d better wait first,” he said.
The waiting decision from many consumers is very reasonable. In recent times, social media has been shocked by the emergence of several variants suspected of being a new model, one of which is the Avanza Veloz.
The appearance of this new model is reminiscent of the Toyota Rush, even more frightening than the Rush. Even the front view of the new Avanza Veloz is similar to the Toyota Raize.
Then, will Toyota present the All New Avanza?
“I can’t comment yet on new products,” said the Marketing Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) Anton Jimmi Suwandy, some time ago.
However, Toyota insists the issues surrounding the new Avanza are said to not affect consumers’ decisions to buy the current Avanza model. This issue does not make the sales of the current Avanza model go down.
“Currently there are no sounds like that from the dealer. This morning I also just came from the dealer, so far (so far) I haven’t heard anything like that,” said Anton.
