The popular presenter and TV profile Guri Solberg(45) could this summer reveal that she had gotten a new job. Solberg, who for years has directed a number of well-known programs on TV 2, was to try his hand as a news anchor with the same employer.
Now the 45-year-old can reveal a new change in his life. Solberg and his family are in place in New York, where they will stay for some time to come.
About a week ago, the TV profile started posting pictures from New York on Instagram. She could also tell that the family was in an apartment they were going to live in until the summer.
“A little holiday, a little work, very exciting”, Solberg wrote on Instagram, to a picture of the view the family has from the home.

The host has received a number of comments and reactions that she has now moved, and this week she felt a need to clarify why.
“Thanks for the AMAZING response and lots of questions about all the New York photos I post,” the 45-year-old opened the post, before continuing:
“We are here because my husband is doing research at a university in the city, the children are going to school and I am going to work for TV 2. The first few weeks we take it easy. We live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and will stay here until the summer. Will probably be a lot of Manhattan skyline and everyday life in the monitor in the future ».
Solberg points out to Dagbladet that she is now in the USA’s largest city, first and foremost as a «research lady». The well-known host appreciates that the whole family could go, and thanks his flexible employer TV 2 for that.
– The job for TV 2 is first and foremost about voicing forty programs of “Sommerhytta” season six, which will be broadcast this spring, Solberg says.
In addition, she will be available for TV 2’s newsrooms.
– The plan is that I will deliver material to those who need or want it. Maybe I should also make some episodes of my podcast “Good Ladies”.
Working “from home” has become more common as a result of the pandemic, but few are probably as far away from the office as Solberg is.
– It is strange to sit on the 22nd floor in Williamsburg in Brooklyn and talk about small cabins on the banks of the Glomma, but I am very grateful that this can be done from here.
On Instagram, Solberg has shared a photo that shows the new workplace – a small and cramped closet. This is where the “Summer Cabin” magic happens.
– In order for the sound to be good enough, I have bought a good microphone, and for the acoustics to be correct, I have placed myself inside a closet in our hallway, Solberg reveals.
– There are many outer jackets that provide good cushioning, and with a wool blanket over your head, it becomes pure studio sound. A little warm when I hold on for a long time, but otherwise good. And important that the rest of the family is quiet! she says.
The family will return to Norway at the end of June, and from the autumn Solberg will return to the role of news anchor.
Solberg will then be the news anchor for the main broadcasts to the channel, as she will act as a substitute for Siri Kleiven Strøm, who is expecting her second child.

It is not so long since the family arrived in New York, but it seems that both big and small thrive.
– The girls are enjoying American cereals and second-hand shops, and last week they saw Billie Eilish in “Madison Square Garden”. So they live on that for a long time, says Solberg, and follows up:
– A little scary with a new school, but they are brave.
