The game world of Fallout 76 is a post-apocalyptic version of the US state of West Virginia. He hopes that the attention generated by the online RPG will give the tourism industry a boost. This now even leads to an official cooperation.
After the setting and the first trailer for Fallout 76 became public, there were some euphoric reactions from residents in West Virginia. This has not escaped the local government and tourism companies, because a little later, many expressed their first hopes for an upturn in tourism in West Virginia.
Now, Governor Jim Justice and the West Virginia Tourism Bureau are teaming up with Bethesda to jointly plan promotional campaigns, boost tourism and attract gamers.

What will this cooperation look like? Bethesda and the tourism office are currently working on campaigns that will benefit both parties. While Bethesda hopes to advertise Fallout 76, West Virginia wants to “educate” players about the state, its culture and landscape.

There are no specific details about the planned campaigns yet. Until recently, Fallout 76 t-shirts were sold in West Virginia’s Mothman Museum, but all of them are now out of stock. By the way, this museum will also exist in the game.
