There won’t be another clam in the Czech Republic yet. You can get the Oppo Find N2 Flip with a large external display at least from your neighbors – MobilMania.cz

Oppo launched a new foldable smartphone for the European market today at an event in London. It is one of the novelties originally introduced at the end of last year in China. Even then, the manufacturer announced that only clams would be released outside the homeland Oppo Find N2 Flip. On the other hand, the foldable “pocket book” Oppo Find N2 will keep as an exclusive for Chinese customers only.

Even within Europe, at least in the first wave, it will not reach all countries. The novelty was launched in Great Britain, where it will go on sale in the 8 + 256 GB memory variant and in two colors (purple, black) for 850 pounds, equivalent to 22,600 CZK. The clam won’t visit the Czech Republic yet, but those interested can try their luck in neighboring Slovakia. Here the phone will be on sale for 1100 euros, about 26 thousand crowns, i.e. again significantly more expensive than in Great Britain. The new product will also be available in Polish stores.

Why does Oppu not want to go to the Czech Republic?

The Oppo Find N2 Flip is a smart clamshell with a flexible display, i.e. a smartphone of a similar type to, for example, Z Flips from Samsung or Razra from Motorola. The biggest difference is the differently conceived secondary display, which is placed vertically on the outside of the flip and thus provides more space not only for displaying notifications, but also for partial control of some functions, for example quick replies to messages, control of Spotify, etc.

The design of the phone allows opening between 45 and 110 °. This position is called Flex Form, Oppo also has some applications adapted to the halved display

In general, the manufacturer defines itself a lot in relation to other clamshells, apparently it needs to justify why it comes with its Flip three years after Samsung’s first flexible clamshell. It is therefore trying to appeal with a better camera than its competition, a larger battery capacity and also a less noticeable storage of the internal flexible panel, which could be achieved by using the second generation hinge called Flexion Hinge. The display does not completely notch in it, but it bends more gently in the shape of a drop instead of the more common letter “U”. This also means that there is no gap between the two wings of the Flip when closed.

Fans of clamshell smartphones may be disappointed by the absence of the new product on the Czech market. Oppo is not very active in the Czech Republic at all, the last time it launched the mid-range model Oppo Reno7 Lite last spring, we haven’t received any other news since then. The presence of sister brands Realme and recently especially Vivo, which are significantly more active on the Czech market, probably contributes to a certain restraint. In addition, it is still true that relatively little-known Chinese brands can sell cheaper phones here than flagship models for several tens of thousands of crowns.
