There will be no compromise on the security of Chinese citizens, Prime Minister

Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has made it clear that no compromise will be made on the issue of security of Chinese citizens working in Pakistan.
According to the statement issued by the media wing of the Prime Minister’s Office, a delegation led by Chairman Shanghai Electric Group Wu Li met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
In the meeting, the Prime Minister was briefed regarding the various projects being run under the patronage of Shanghai Electric Group in Pakistan.
In the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s determination to further promote friendly relations and economic cooperation with China.
The Prime Minister said that the friendship between Pakistan and China is deeper than the seas and higher than the Himalayas, there will be no compromise in providing security for Chinese companies operating in Pakistan and their employees.
Mian Shahbaz Sharif invited the Shanghai Electric Group to shift imported coal-fired power plants in the country to local coal and further expand coal mining projects.
He said that the Government of Pakistan will provide all facilities to the Chinese investors to further expand the existing projects.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Thar Coal Block One Power Generation Company Meng Donghai, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Owais Ahmed Laghari, Federal Minister for Petroleum Dr. Mossadegh Masood Malik, Deputy Chairman Planning Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan were present in the meeting. And senior officials of the relevant institutions were also involved.
In the meeting, the delegation also briefed the Prime Minister on the progress of various projects so far.
