Citizens should request it from the City Council, preferably through the municipal website, before June 22. The bonfires must meet a series of requirements depending on whether they are set up in the urban or rural area of ​​the municipality.

The party, which must comply with the socio-sanitary criteria that are in force by then, must conclude at three thirty in the morning, as marked by the Xunta de Galicia.

Before, the Council of Now followed in the footsteps of A coruña and Potters and has announced that access to Beaches of the municipality will remain closed during the night of San Juan, in which the installation of bonfires will not be allowed nor the concentrations of citizens in public places.

The council will not program, therefore, any festive act or recreational activity to avoid compromising situations from the social health point of view. Those who choose to make the bonfire at home must notify it, although in this case the permit must be requested from the Xunta de Galicia.

Last week A Coruña and Oleiros announced that their beaches would be closed. They were the first two consistories to confirm that the celebration will be prohibited in the sandy areas of both municipalities.

The local government has opened in the last hours the period to request permission to make bonfires, which will not be allowed in public spaces. The deadline for submitting applications ends on June 22.

Cambre and Culleredo

The Cambre and Culleredo municipalities have also decided to prohibit the holding of bonfires, barbecues or similar events in public spaces. The decision is adopted jointly by the habitual movement of the residents of one municipality to another. The bonfires in the private sphere will be processed in each of the councils.
