There will be admissions for 12 procedures under the Fishery Program in 2024 – Agro Plovdiv – 2024-03-14 16:39:26


At a meeting of the Monitoring Committee, seven criteria and the methodology for evaluating project proposals were presented

This year, admissions will be open for 12 procedures under the Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Program (PMDRA) 2021-2027 in the amount of BGN 132 million. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food and Head of the Program’s Governing Body Prof. Deyan Stratev during the second meeting of The Oversight Committeewhich takes place in Burgas.

“Under the PMDRA 2021-2027, we launched three admissions. Under the activity “Capacity building and preparatory actions to support the development and future implementation of strategies for Community-Led Local Development”, the reception ended on 20.02.2024. The other two active receptions are “Control and Law Enforcement” and “Data Collection”. At the moment, a total of 35 project proposals with a total value of just over BGN 3 million have been submitted under the three announced procedures,” Stratev informed.

The total agreed funds are nearly BGN 200 million or 98% of the PMDRA 2021-2027 budget. “The disbursed funds are in the amount of BGN 152 million or 74% of the total budget. The certified costs are worth BGN 104 million from the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund or 66% of the program’s budget, the deputy minister specified. In 2023, compensations were provided to the Fisheries sector for the consequences of the war in Ukraine in the total amount of BGN 9 million,” Deputy Minister Stratev also pointed out.

During the meeting, the Committee members approved the draft amendment to the Indicative Annual Work Program for 2024 of PMDRA 2021-2027. Seven criteria and the methodology for evaluating project proposals under the Program for Maritime Affairs, Fisheries and Aquaculture (PMDRA) 2021-2027 were presented. They are for the following types of activities:

  • “Improving the infrastructure of fishing ports, fish markets, landing sites and marinas to facilitate the landing and storage of unwanted catches”,
  • “Support to improve the economic and social status of fisheries operators”,
  • “Specific fishing vessel equipment, activities and innovations aimed at protecting the environment and biodiversity”,
  • “Implementation of Community-Led Local Development Strategies”,
  • “Production and Marketing Plans”,
  • “Market Offering”
  • “Marine Surveillance”.
