LIVE Techno – Even though it has been rejected by many users, however Instagram seems to still continue to plan to deliver content in full screen.
This was confirmed directly by Instagram’s CEO, Adam Mosseri, who confirmed that Instagram will start testing 9:16 ultra-high photos in the next week or two, as quoted from the site. The VergeSunday, August 7, 2022.
“You can have tall videos, but you can’t have tall photos on Instagram, so we thought maybe we should make sure we treat the two equally,” he said.
Currently, Instagram is up about 4:5 when it comes to displaying cropped vertical images. But introducing support for slimmer and taller 9:16 photos will later fill the entire screen as users scroll through the app’s feed.
This TikTok-like redesign of Instagram has been criticized by some photographers for forcing all photos to appear awkwardly in 9:16 frames.
The new feeds also add a gradient overlay to the bottom of the post, making the text easier to read.
During testing of Instagram’s redesign with users, Mosseri also acknowledged that more than once the full-screen experience for this photo was less than ideal.
