The 72-year-old singer, who will celebrate his fiftieth anniversary in 2025, announces that he has started writing songs.
Renaud announces to Parisian that he is “preparing (his) 50 years of songs, the anniversary of which will take place in May 2025”. “There will be a beautiful book, with unpublished photos and words, and a documentary. There will also be a new album next year, I hope. I have started writing songs”, adds the artist.
Several tributes to the singer
In the meantime, musician friends will give a concert in Paris on Thursday, in his honor and on the occasion of an exhibition and a collection of works by contemporary artists illustrating his songs. These three events, which are part of a project called “Words and Images”, are organized to benefit the actions of UNICEF, the latter indicated in a press release, specifying that the concert, at the town hall of the 13th arrondissement (east of Paris), will begin at 7 p.m. and will bring together “some of Renaud’s musician and singer friends”. It has not been confirmed to AFP how the singer himself will participate. Parisianthe latter says “sing two songs”.
Renaud, 72, started a tour in early 2023, after a six-year absence, before releasing the album Dans mes cordes in the fall, in which he revisits his repertoire in symphonic form.
