The IMU platform, International Union for the Defense of Motorcyclists, has called a demonstration for next June 13 throughout the national territory, demanding from the administrations the rights that belong to us in terms of safety, equality and freedom on the road.
As stated in their statement, since the demonstration of October 27, 2019, with 27 cities mobilized in Spain and thousands of motorists to demand the right to life, before a public administration disrespectful of the rights of citizens, the IMU had not planned new mobilizations for social responsibility in the face of the health situation.

The IMU continues to work for the defense of the interests of users in the two-wheel sector. And with this premise they have called a series of coordinated demonstrations on June 13 in several cities in Spain, demanding rights that are not met and other no less important requests.

The group requests all guardrails are protected with protection systems for motorcyclists, which is one of the most traditional measures among the demands of the collective of the two wheels since it skews many lives and never finds an effective answer. As well as the correct maintenance of the road surface, streets and road markings that guarantee safety on our public roads, maintaining the state level and properly signaling all dangers, complying with the law as requested by citizens. .

They include direct requirements to the DGT so that it stops harassing motorcyclists trying to impose measures that affect the use of motorcycles and that municipalities recognize the motorcycle as a highly efficient means of transport, allowing its use in low-emission areas. To the rest of the competent public administrations in the field of road safety surveillance, special attention is requested to improve the investigation of accidents, identifying the real factors that act on two-wheeled vehicles to determine preventive measures adapted to reality and not measures without feet or head.
It is also demanded the increase of the speed on motorways to 130 km / h unifying criteria with the rest of the European Union and also that the toll for motorcycles be reduced, not equating them to passenger cars and giving a proportionality to the cost of these, as they do with heavy vehicles and transport.

A much-discussed topic among users is the use of intercoms in helmets., which failing that they leave motorcyclists without the possibility of communication, for this reason it is emphasized that the General Traffic Regulations be reformed allowing the use of these. As it could not be otherwise and since we are not protected external structure, a reduction in VAT of specific protection equipment is the minimum that can be requested and therefore it is also included in the list of requests.
Finally, having listened to the intentions of the public administrations, the demand for that the use of airbag equipment is not implanted as mandatory since it would be discrimination unless an equitable solution is sought.
