A panel of the District Court in Stara Zagora today imposed today the most severe permanent measure of restraint “detention in custody” of 37-year-old Vladimir Vassilev. In the courtroom, the defendant’s defense requested that he remain under house arrest to care for his two children. The defense’s other motive for the lighter measure was the fact that the man detained so far was cooperating with the investigation.
According to official information from the prosecutor’s office, Vladimir Vassilev admitted that he shot Stanimir Ivanov with a legally owned Beretta pistol after a scandal over unsettled financial relations. He then calmly waited for the police, to whom he handed over his pistol, with which he fired.
At the time of the murder, the brother of the accused Vladimir, Milen, was also in the company’s office. Both the detainee and his brother took gunpowder swabs on their hands, despite the shooter’s confessions. The results of this inspection would be released within a week.
Unofficially today, it became clear that the cameras in the company’s office did not work during the incident, which happened at 5 pm on Wednesday.
