“There were also real widows, but fur coats were taken away from everyone” – the participants tell how they filmed a video with the “gifting” of fur coats in Donbass

A video of women holding fur coats was published on social networks and then in the media on February 8. “We received such help today. We are very grateful. The families of the fallen soldiers gathered here today. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart… Probably not everyone thought that such an opportunity would exist,” said one of the women. The operator then says it’s help from “Russian assets”. “It’s in moments like these that we feel like we’re one family,” says the voice behind the frame.

One of the women who took part in the making of the video told “The Insider” that she is not a widow, she was simply asked to film and was promised a fur coat for it. The whole process was led by Igor Strelkov’s associate Yevhenii Skripnik. Skripnik is called the main organizer of the campaign.

“They, the volunteers of Skripnik’s organization, often collect money from ordinary citizens and give it to the widows and mothers of fighters and the like, but in reality they don’t give everything to a cause. I know that they gave ammunition to the fighters and then took it back, but then they said that they were not fighters at all, but actors.

I’m ashamed to say it, but I was also involved, I’m not a widow, I was simply asked to film – and I’ll give you a fur coat for it. But when the coat was taken away and the video was posted on the Internet, I was shocked. There were also real widows, I know two personally – their husbands died in the war. You give fur coats, but after the video [tos] take it, it’s not humane, is it? I was punished by God for my transgression, do you understand how I look into my husband’s eyes?” said one of the filming participants.

Another woman said that she received a call from a salon that provided fur coats and apologized for the incident.

“If I had known it would happen, I would never have filmed a video there,” said the other interlocutor. “I feel very sorry for the women.”

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian media is spreading the version that the fur coats were stolen from a store in Kherson

On February 12, publications appeared in Ukrainian media and “Telegram” channels that the “gifted” fur coats in the video were stolen from a salon in Kherson. All materials refer to a girl’s publication on Facebook. However, such a post no longer exists on the social network.

Also, the screenshot published by the media shows that the distance between the text and the image does not correspond to the “Facebook” format, so the authenticity of the post cannot be determined, according to “The Insider”.

Jauns.lv previously reported that in the so-called “Donetsk People’s Republic” each widow of the dead occupier was given a fur coat, and then a video was filmed in which they say “thank you”.

It is known that 21 fur coats were distributed as “aid” in the “Donetsk People’s Republic”. In the video, the wives of the dead invaders were lined up to thank the Russians for the “gifts”.

In July of last year in Russia, propagandists actively broadcast a video about how the father of a dead occupier from the Saratov region spent the “coffin” payments for his son, buying a new Lada.
