There was Kopassus in the shootout which killed 2 KKB in Papua

KOMPAS.com – Special Forces Commando Soldier (Kopassus) involved in a shootout with an armed criminal group (KKB) in Kampung Wuloni Village, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, occurred on Thursday (13/5/2021).

Apart from Kopassus soldiers, other TNI troops who exchanged fire with KKB came from Kostrad and Yonif 500 / R.

Pangdam XVII / Cenderawasih Major General (Mayjen) TNI Ignatius Yogo Triyono said the gunfire took place at 07.30 WIT.

Armed contact, which involved a joint TNI troop against an armed separatist group led by Lerimayu Telenggen.

“The troops who were in the firefight were a combination of TNI (Kopassus, Kostrad and Yonif 500 / R),” wrote Maj. Gen. Yogo, when confirmed. Kompas.com via WhatsApp message, Thursday night.

During the gun battle, two members of the KKB were killed.

The joint TNI team is still cleaning up after the shootout.

So that the weapons and others owned by the two KKB members have not been confirmed.
