As reported by the police, 7.05 p.m. A report was received that six cars collided on the A1 road towards Vilnius – Jeep, Škoda, Audi, VW Sharan, Škoda and VW Touareg. Machine drivers are sober.
According to preliminary data, the accident was caused by slippery road surface.
“We ask drivers to pay attention to the changed traffic conditions, choose a safe speed and keep their distance,” the police urged.
The Lithuanian Road Administration says that sunny days are replaced by cold nights, then the air temperature drops below 0 degrees, so the surface of bridges and viaducts can be slippery at night and early in the morning.
