Luciana Littizzetto is again at the center of the controversy. This time to question his comic curtains is the mayor of Venice, who did not like the bad taste satire of the Turin comedian on his city. As had already happened on other occasions, Littizzetto used words of dubious interpretation to make her usual Sunday monologue and criticisms rained abundantly.
During the last episode of What’s the weather like, the program conducted by Fabio Fazio on Rai3, Luciana Littizzetto spoke of the delays in the delivery of vaccine doses. The pharmaceutical company Pfizer, to which Littizzetto made a suggestion, ended up in the sights of the comic: “What are you missing, the vials? We make them for you, we are full of glassware. Burano, Murano and Torcello are waiting for nothing else. We let go of making swans and crooked cats, we start making vials“The words of the Turin comedian, however, did not please the mayor of Venice, Luigi Brugnaro, who found it offensive to talk about “crooked swans and cats“as if these were a defect rather than a value and a symbol of an entire artisan sector.
Through his Twitter account, the mayor of Venice thus addressed the top management of Viale Mazzini: “Why does Rai 3 allow to discredit Venice? In Murano “swans and crooked cats” are not made, but glass masters create unique works in the world. Public service should prevent “satire” offend traditions of a city that celebrates 1600 years of history“. Words that met with the favor of Internet users, who supported Brugnaro’s stance against Luciana Littizzetto.”Glass is made in Murano; Torcello and Burano have nothing to do with it – and it is quite insulting that you can compare glass made by machines, with the millenary art of the master glassmakers of Venice – too bad – considering she was a teacher, I expected more“, a user warned. Someone also tried to make the memory go back to the comic by sharing on the web one of the most famous” crooked cats “exhibited in one of the most important museums in the world:”Murano second half of the 19th century. ‘Crooked Cat’, bequest of Jackson Jarves, Metropolitan Museum, New York City“.
Why @RaiTre allows to @lucianinalitti to discredit #Venezia?
A #Murano “crooked swans and cats” are not made, but glass masters create works that are unique in the world.
The public service should avoid that the “satire” offends the traditions of a city that is 1600 years old. pic.twitter.com/rIuCjuzySR– Luigi Brugnaro (@LuigiBrugnaro) February 1, 2021
