On Wednesday, the system of US central banks, the Federal Reserve or Fed, raised its key interest rate – as expected – by a quarter of a percentage point. It is the first rate hike since the end of 2018, but there may be six more this year. A day later, the Bank of England also followed with a 0.25 percent increase. What does that mean?
