“At this moment, I will tell you with certainty, if Ciuca becomes PNL president, with 100% certainty the post of prime minister, from May, 2023, will be taken over by PSD. It remains to be seen who will appoint PSD prime minister. At the moment I am nominated to take over the position of Prime Minister in the press, but there is still a year until then. What is certain is that Ciuca will no longer be prime minister, now there is no crack that this will happen “, said Marcel Ciolacu in the show on RTV.
The PSD leader also admitted that it is possible that the Liberals will prepare Ciuca to run for the Romanian presidency, after he will take over the party leadership. “It is their right to nominate him as a candidate,” Ciolacu said, adding that PSD will also have a suitable candidate for the country’s leadership.
“Who is running for the presidency of the country, when, how, I don’t think the Romanians are interested. I announced that in our PSD the custom is over that the party president must be the candidate for the country’s presidency. It’s over because it did a lot of harm to the party.
