Penalty miss Bruno Fernandes color defeat Manchester United from Arsenal. There’s a reason why not Cristiano Ronaldo who executes the penalty.
MU goes home with a loss from the visit to headquarters Arsenal in the Premier League continuation. Competing at the Emirates Stadium, Saturday (23/4/2022) night WIB, the Red Devils lost with a score of 1-3.
MU had a golden opportunity to equalize when trailing 1-2. They got a penalty in the 55th minute following Nuno Tavares’ handball.
However, Bruno Fernandes who stepped forward as the executor failed to convert the penalty into a goal. The ball hit the goal post.
After the game, United manager Ralf Rangnick was asked why not Cristiano Ronaldo who takes the penalty. Ronaldo apparently refused to take the penalty and felt Bruno Fernandes in better condition.
“This is between the two of them. They are both penalty takers,” Rangnick said as reported by Sky Sports.
“Cristiano told me after the game that he didn’t feel good enough and that’s why Bruno took him.”
“In the end it’s a matter of two or three yards to the right,” Rangnick said.
This is the second time the penalty Bruno Fernandes failed in the Premier League this season. Previously, the Portuguese midfielder missed a penalty in the match against Aston Villa in September.
