There is no shortage of business ideas – DELFI

The maximum amount of money that can be applied for by one grant recipient is 10,000 euros, and the total amount of available grants this year is 70,000 euros. Grant funds can be used for economic purposes to develop an existing business or to establish a new company.

It is planned to develop the most new business ideas in Sigulda region – 21 applications were received, as well as in Mārupe region – 19 project applications. In Jūrmala city, 14 project applicants want to implement new ideas, while in Ķekava region – 11. In Stopiņi region, six applications were received, while in Olaine region – four.

Entrepreneurs’ intentions and areas of activity are related to various sectors – it is planned to develop new tourism services, produce textiles (clothing, toys) and food products, as well as develop new digital platforms. Several ideas are also related to beauty and medical services, education, sports, as well as the improvement of the surrounding urban environment.

The selection of the received applications will take place in three rounds, evaluating both their compliance with the program criteria and the potential of the business plan and idea. The submitted projects will be evaluated by a jury commission, which will consist of business professionals and local government representatives. The announcement of the results and the awarding of the winners will take place on November 12.

The grant program (s) is taking place for the fourth time and its goal is to promote business development in Pieriga. Both individuals who plan to start their own business and existing companies that carry out or plan to carry out economic activities in one of the six municipalities involved in the grant program and established no more than three years ago could apply for funding.
