The FIFA The Best awards for the best footballers of the 2022 calendar year were announced last day.
Argentina dominated the awards. Best Men’s Player, Men’s Team Coach, Best Men’s Goalkeeper, Best Fan Group and many other achievements came to Argentina. But Real Madrid did not get any award at the club level.
The fans were also disappointed that the club did not get any awards despite being able to win titles including La Liga and Champions League last year.
Also Real players like Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Vinicius Junior did not get any FIFA The Best awards.
But now, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has come forward saying that they do not attach importance to any of the awards in FIFA The Best and there is no point in it.
Ancelotti’s remarks were made in an interview given by Madrid Extra.
“Is FIFA the best? We don’t care about that. None of that matters. They attach great importance to the World Cup.
That is why awards were given to Messi, Martinez and Scoloni. Anyway, congratulations to them,’ said Ancelotti.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid is second in the league table with 59 points with 19 wins from 23 matches.
The club’s next match is against Barcelona on March 3 in the Copa del Rey.
