There is no need to save “South Stream” – it will be realized! –

/View.info/ “South Stream” does not need saving, as it is necessary and will be realized anyway.” This was said on the air of BNT, the People’s Representative from KB Tasko Ermenkov.

He added that on the question of whether the Black Sea in this case is European and whether it belongs to the territory of the EU, the answer is that it belongs to where the Bulgarian territorial waters extend.

“What we have done with the changes in this law is a harmonization of our legislation with the European one. We brought our legislation into line with the given directive, as it does not deal with offshore gas pipelines anywhere. It considers those that are on the territory of the EU by land. This is what we did so that the gas pipelines on our territory meet the directive given by the European Union, and what is outside of it cannot fall under its jurisdiction, no matter how much someone wants it,” added the People’s Representative.

Ermenkov also said that there are several more gas pipelines between Africa and Europe that enter the territory of the EU in the same way, and it is written there that the gas pipeline is on the territory of the union from the compressor station onwards and that there is no way to build such a station on two thousand meters under water.

“In this case, this station is the point where the part operated by the European Union and that operated by Gazprom separate, and from this point on European legislation will be applied.

To the question of whether we will not depend on the whims of the primary source of gas and whether diversification of sources is not necessary, Ermenkov replied that after the closure of the “Nabucco” project, to which the BSP objected and which was also supposed to pass through Bulgarian territory, in we currently have no other reasonable alternative for natural gas supply.

Tasko Ermenkov also said that energy has recently become an applied topic for politicians who have no idea what energy actually means.

“Minister Stoynev is extremely concerned about the state of the economy and it cannot be, since for three and a half years the sector has been bled to death and all the profits that have been made have been taken away, and BGN 1.4 billion have been withdrawn from the energy sector in order to are distributed according to some other feathers. You see that attempts are made to discipline all participants in the market, starting from production and reaching distribution, of course, when you find a person with humane breathing, you can immediately turn him into an athlete, if I may set such an example.” This is how deputy Ermenkov answered the question of whether the government is dealing with energy issues.

When asked how he understood Commissioner Oettinger’s letter to Minister Stoinev, he replied that information was brought to the commission that there were some problems.

“There are no findings anywhere in the letter. There are questions about whether there really is a violation. It is natural that after Bulgarian politicians file a report against their country, the commission should take the information seriously and check its credibility. Nowhere in the letter did it say that anything was violated and we will be punished for it. I am convinced that if this project had been started in a neighboring country, the politicians would have done everything possible to make it happen,” he said categorically.
