It was previously reported that State Social Insurance Agency (SSIA) received a money transfer from Russia Federations in order to be able to pay a Russian pension to those persons who receive a pension in Latvia in accordance with the Agreement between the Republic of Latvia and the Russian Federation on Cooperation in the Field of Social Security. The next payment for the second quarter of 2022 is scheduled for June.

It is also reported that Russia The government has allowed Russians living abroad, whose payments cannot be paid due to sanctions, to be credited in ruble accounts opened in Russia, citing a decree by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported on Friday.

The MoW could not comment on whether and what it changes for Russian pension recipients living in Latvia.
