/ world today news/ The economic situation in Bulgaria is not easy because there is no growth. The average growth is higher than the previous year, but Bulgaria is among the member states with the lowest public debt.
This was stated by the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, at a joint briefing with Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev in Brussels.
The two have discussed a number of problems – regional issues and whether the EC’s investment plan can be adapted to Bulgaria. The two also discussed the verification mechanism. We intend to end this mechanism in the next few years, Juncker said.
Rosen Plevneliev introduced the President of the EC to the political life in Bulgaria after the two turbulent years. Bulgaria now has a clear ambition and request for reforms, said Plevneliev. He assured Juncker that 2015 will be the year of reforms and stability in our country. He has assured him that in terms of Schengen we are doing well. The head of state is convinced that by the end of 2015, Bulgaria will move towards the monitoring mechanism.
Plevneliev shook Juncker’s hand for his visionary idea of a European Energy Union. Stay tuned for details.
