Line Indonesia Reportedly, 80 employees have been laid off. In addition to layoffs, Line Indonesia is also reported to have closed the LINE Today service.
In response to this, Line Indonesia Country Manager Fanny Verona, said that the company is currently pursuing a strategic business direction. Fanny also said that LINE was taking strategic steps to refocus on the financial technology (fintech) business in Indonesia.
“In line with our strategic business direction, we will determine the resources of our company. LINE is taking strategic steps to refocus on the financial technology business in Indonesia. Of course, we are still committed to the Indonesian market,” Fanny said to detik.comThursday (6/2/2022).
Meanwhile, regarding the number of employees who have been laid off, Fanny denied it. “As for us, we can confirm that the number of 80 people broadcast is not true,” he said.
Feny revealed that for LINE TODAY and the LINE messenger service itself, the service can still be used by users.
“Until now, LINE TODAY service users can still access and enjoy various news and story content as a whole. We will continue to provide LINE messenger services to our users as before. We will also continue to provide essential services for our loyal users and will continue to carry out activities such as M&A and investment,” he explained.
