There is ‘Komodo & Batik’ in the design of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train

Jakarta

The Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Rail (KCJB) project is being accelerated. Starting from the construction of tunnels, bridges and stations continue to be pursued. Later, KCJB will be served by 4 stations on a 142 Km line, namely Halim, Karawang, Padalarang and Tegalluar stations.

Along with the development of physical infrastructure, the production of a series of trains or Electric Multiple Units (EMU) for the KCJB project is also running. The production process is underway at the China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) Sifang factory located in Qingdao, China with an ISO 9001 international standardized quality management system.

Coming into production since the end of May 2021, the EMU for KCJB has advanced and modern technology. The EMU with the CR400AF type is designed with low energy use so it is very environmentally friendly. This type of EMU also has safety features that have been strengthened and are the most advanced.

With the assistance of the Operation Command Center (OCC), the EMU is also connected to monitoring equipment for hazards due to natural phenomena, including high rainfall, strong winds, earthquakes, as well as foreign objects and fire resistance.

“The trains used are faster than existing conventional trains, more modern. Including being equipped with a monitoring system in the cabin, such as pantograph monitoring, room temperature, voltage and electric current, door status on each train and so on. In addition, EMU Materials made fire resistance or fire resistance according to existing standards,” explained PT KCIC President Director, Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi, in a written statement, Saturday (10/30/2021).

Dwiyana explained that the EMU for KCJB is designed to minimize vibration and noise. That way passengers can experience the experience of riding a train that can go up to an operating speed of 350 km/hour comfortably (Design Speed 400 km/hour).

“The noise and vibration of the EMU used for the fast car network is at its lowest/minimum level,” he explained.

Comfort in the fast train occurs because of the adoption of advanced technology from Bogie using a suspension system consisting of a primary suspension using cylindrical helical springs and a secondary suspension using air springs and equipped with dampers. Comfort index and Stability index are monitored very closely.
