Victory Paris Saint Germain on Real Madrid tinged with unpleasant issues. There were reports of Les Parisiens bosses pressing the referee at half-time.
PSG host Madrid at the Parc des Princes, Paris, France, Wednesday (16/2/2022) early morning WIB, in the first leg Champions League round of 16. The hosts had difficulties in the first half.
In the second half, PSG got a penalty. However, Lionel Messi failed to convert it into a goal.
The winning goal for PSG just arrived in injury time. Kylian Mbappe ensured the Ligue 1 giants a 1-0 win over Los Blancos in the first leg.
Reported by Marca, there is an unpleasant issue coloring the victory PSG. Reportedly, PSG officials pressed the referee in the first half.
Marca said PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi and PSG sporting director Leonardo met with referee Daniel Orsato. Both are said to have pressured the judge.
“Al Khelaifi and Leonardo came down in the first half to put pressure on Orsato after he refereed in the first half,” journalist Miguel Angel Toribio told Radio MARCA’s Marcador Europeo.
“The people from UEFA were there to witness it,” he said.
Daniel Orsato himself has led Madrid’s four matches in the Champions League since last season. As a result, two wins and two defeats went to Madrid, with the last being swallowed up last season when they were eliminated by Chelsea in the semifinals.
PSG himself will turn to visit Madrid headquarters in the second leg. The match will be held on March 10.
