Chen Xinyu, the former director of the Taipei City Labor Bureau, was accused of writing off private expenses with false receipts, writing off special expenses and public funds, totaling more than 20,000 yuan, and suspected of leaking “Mirror TV” labor inspection data to the People’s Party Legislators, and was charged with corruption and other crimes sue. According to the content of the lawsuit, it was found that Chen Xinyu wrote off a wide range of “daily necessities” with public funds, including food, skin care products and small clothes, and even bought a soft-boiled hot spring egg with public funds, which is shocking.
According to the prosecution, Chen Xinyu served as the director of the Taipei City Labor Bureau from January 31, 2020 to September 5, 2022. Knowing that the expenses reported to the head of the agency, that is, special expenses, should be obtained according to the “Government Expenditure Receipts Handling Key Points”, and the verification should be handled according to the regulations. It must also meet the scope of the Executive Yuan’s “Special Expenditure Regulations for Government Agencies at All Levels”.
However, in order to seek illegal personal gain, Chen Xinyu even instructed the uninformed labor bureau personnel to record false names on the invoices and official documents, and reported to the uninformed accounting office personnel for verification. And it started shortly after taking office.

In total, Chen Xinyu falsely wrote off special fees totaling 22,656 yuan. The prosecution believes that Chen Xinyu knew that all the consumption had nothing to do with official duties and was not included in the write-off scope of special expenses, but he carried out false write-offs. This is the crime of using job opportunities to fraudulently obtain property under the Corruption Crimes Act, and the criminal law of making public servants publish false information.
