Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health) RI know School Child Immunization Month (BIAS). This program is aimed at elementary school students (SD)/equivalent.
The following is the schedule up to BIAS 2024 provisions.
What is BIAS?
The Ministry of Health held School Child Immunization Month (BIAS) which is held regularly in August and November every year.

Quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Health, the aim of giving this vaccine is to increase antibodies or immunity, especially against diphtheria, tetanus, measles and rubella , because these diseases can not be only when they are babies, but they can also happen when they are older.
BIAS targets are:
- Level 1 Primary School / age 7 years
- Primary 2nd grade / 8 years old
- Primary school level 5 / 11 years old
- Grade 6 primary school / age 12 years.
What about non-school BIAS targets?
For non-school BIAS targets, vaccination can be done at community health centers and other health service facilities. Immunization service positions in places where children who are not at school gather, such as:
- Home for street children
- Foundation / Orphanage
- Social welfare institutions
- Social institutions managed by the government and the community
- Informal school
- correctional center, and so on.
Immunization Month Schedule for School Children 2024
School Child Immunization Month (BIAS) 2024 will take place between August and November 2024. BIAS is conducted simultaneously in primary, MI and special schools throughout Indonesia.
The following is the implementation schedule.
- Primary School Level 1:
– Measles Rubella (August)
– DT (November) - 2nd Grade Primary School:
– Td (November) - Primary School Level 5:
– HPV 1 (August)
– Td (November) - Primary School Level 6:
– HPV 2 (August).
- Human Papilloma Virus (HPV): To prevent cervical or cervical cancer
- Diphtheria tetanus (DT) and diphtheria tetanus (Td): To prevent diphtheria and tetanus.
– DT: given to children under 7 years of age
– Td: diphtheria vaccine with lower levels for children in grades 2 and 5 in primary school.
Why do children need more vaccines?
BIAS is a follow-up vaccine after children are vaccinated in infancy. This program must be carried out so that the immunity of school-aged children, which tends to decline, is maintained.
