There is a threat of very strong storms in the Vysočina region, firefighters are removing fallen trees

Between five and six in the afternoon, the Pilsen firefighters rode out of at least ten fallen trees. Other trips soon followed. “Several dozen trees fell on the cycle path between the villages of Dobřív and Strašice. The trail will be closed for an unknown time. We have not reported any injuries,” said Petr Poncar, a spokesman for the Pilsen Region fire brigade.

Police report fallen trees in all parts of the Czech Republic. So far, the most trips are reported in the South Bohemian Region. Due to trees falling on the tracks, there is limited railway traffic in some places in the Czech Republic. Hail fell in Žďár nad Sázavou.

“In the afternoon and evening, especially in southern and eastern Bohemia and in the western and northwestern regions of Moravia and Silesia, storms are expected, which can be exceptionally strong, accompanied mainly by strong gusts of wind (around 70 km / h) and hail,” said the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute. (CHMI).

“On Saturday night, the storms will turn into more permanent precipitation, which can be heavy during Saturday, especially in the Olomouc and Moravian-Silesian regions,” added the experts.
