The government has indicated that the price of Pertalite or RON 90 BBM will increase. This is in response to the high world oil.
The signs of Pertalite going up are even clearer. In fact, the chairman of Commission VII of the DPR, Sugeng Suparwoto, said that there had been calculations related to this price increase.
He said the price of Pertalite is estimated to increase by Rp. 2,000 to Rp. 3,000 per liter. So the price of Pertalite will be in the range of Rp. 9,500 per liter. Currently, the price of Pertalite itself is IDR 7,650 per liter.
“There has been some kind of calculation that Pertalite has gone up by approximately Rp. 3,000 per liter, the highest, ideally at Rp. 2,000, so the price is at Rp. 9,500 to replace the previous Pertamax,” said Sugeng, quoted from CNBC Indonesia’s Power Lunch as written on Monday. (18/4/2022).
According to him, this increase will help PT Pertamina (Persero) cash flow. This is because the volume of Pertalite consumption is quite large.
Sugeng continued, Pertamina’s cash flow must also be saved. This is because Pertamina carries out the assignment. He added that Pertamina’s cash flow was currently very critical.
“That’s a bit tolerable. Pertamina’s cash flow has started to help somewhat because it has a high volume. Once again, we have to save Pertamina’s cash flow as a state-owned company that has been assigned as a public service obligation or PSO,” he said.
“Given that Pertamina’s cash flow today is very, very critical,” he added.
Previously, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Arifin Tasrif, indicated that the price of Pertalite and diesel would increase. Arifin said that in the medium and long term, Pertalite and diesel prices will be adjusted. In addition, security will be carried out by increasing operational reserves from 21 days to 30 days.
“In the medium and long term, we will optimize the mixture of biofuels in diesel, adjust the price of Pertalite, diesel oil and accelerate replacement fuels, including KBLBB, BBG, bioethanol, BioCNG, and others,” said Arifin in a working meeting with Commission VII DPR, Wednesday (13/4).
