There is a shortage of butter in Estonia. Does it also threaten Latvia?

It should be noted that about half of the milk sold in Latvia and a third of other dairy products are imported. So the price is regulated not by Latvian producers, but by the overall situation in the European market. According to Jānis Šolka, it is very difficult to predict price fluctuations – many factors affect it, including weather and geopolitical conditions. However, in general, according to him, there are no signs of an increase in the prices of dairy products. The expert confirmed that milk purchase prices in Latvia are not high – they are still stable at the level of 40 cents per liter. But these are not the lowest prices in Europe. For example, in Romania they are even lower.
