The government of President Gustavo Petro, through the Minister of the Interior, Alfonso Prada, rejected the attack that last Saturday was the victim of the senator of Mais, Aida Quilcué, in the rural area of Tierradentro, in the Cauca.
“I reject the attack on Senator Aida Quilé. Leaders and leaders cannot continue to be victims of violence and intolerance.
This attack was reported by the senator herself through her Twitter account. “I just suffered an attack, they shot the truck I moved in near Guadualejo – Puerto Valencia, Tierradentro Cauca”.
The situation was also rejected by the head of the United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia, Carlos Ruiz Massieu, who repelled the attack suffered by the senator, Aida Quilcué, while traveling with his vehicle on the streets of Cauca.
“I express my absolute refusal to the attack suffered by Senator Aida Quilcué in Tierradentro, in Cauca. The political exercise of her, in favor of indigenous communities and human rights, is essential to consolidate peace in Colombia. All my solidarity with her, with her entourage and with her family, “Massieu wrote through her Twitter account.
Senator Martha Peralta Epieyú also intervened in this regard, writing: “All my solidarity with Senator Aida Quilcué, she has just suffered an attack in which she was shot at the van in which she was traveling. It happened in Tierradentro Cauca. This is what leads to so much racism and xenophobia. This has to stop. “
