RADARSOLK.ID – WhatsApp has again added a new feature that allows users to access the application, even in areas where regulators have blocked the messaging service.
This new feature is the ability of the application to work through a proxy server. So what is a proxy server and how to use it in WhatsApp to bypass internet blocks?
A proxy server is a system that acts as an intermediary between a device or service and the Internet. This means that if the government is blocking WhatsApp in an area, users can enter the address of a proxy server, which has not been blocked by the government, into the application.
This will allow WhatsApp to communicate across the servers, allowing users to access the messaging service without any problems. Even so, WhatsApp will not, however, provide users with a proxy server.
This means that the user needs to search for a working proxy server in their area and then enter the address of the proxy server in the app. There are many free proxy servers around the world created by volunteers and organizations.
However, according to WhatsApp, messages or user data will be end-to-end encrypted even when using the application through a proxy server.
In their announcement, WhatsApp gave the example of Iran, where government authorities blocked all Meta services (such as Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp) for months. Well, in these conditions the new feature is very useful.
To use the Proxy Server feature in WhatsApp, download and install the WhatsApp application on your phone as usual. After configuring the application and registering with your phone number, do the following:
– Open WhatsApp and go to Settings.
– Kalau sudah, Click Storage & Data » Proxy » Use Proxy » Set Proxy.
– Finally, enter the address of the proxy server and click on the Save button. (jpg/ria)
