Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) ensures that no funds are received from customers in the case of alleged forgery of deposit slips at the BNI Makassar Branch Office, South Sulawesi. BNI also chose a legal settlement to get a bright spot regarding the existence of the funds that the customer had previously complained about.
“We have received customer complaints and found a counterfeiting of BNI deposit slips, which confirmed that no funds were entered in our system, so we have reported the case to law enforcement,” said BNI Corporate Secretary Mucharom in Jakarta, Wednesday (16/6/2021). .
He emphasized that BNI management highly respects and upholds the ongoing legal process. The company is also committed to always safeguarding all customer funds stored at BNI.
“Customer funds are guaranteed safe at BNI and services at BNI continue to run normally. We appreciate customers who remain loyal to transacting with BNI,” he said.
Mucharom also urges customers to activate BNI Mobile Banking, so they can check the condition of their accounts at any time, both regarding incoming and outgoing funds, as well as other financial transactions.
“Customers are obliged to maintain the confidentiality of their personal data and banking facilities,” he said.
Previously, it was reported that a customer claimed that his deposit money worth Rp. 20.1 billion had suddenly disappeared. The deposits made since 2019 were divided into 4 bilyets which later turned out to be fake.
A number of oddities occurred in the deposit, such as the interest reaching 8.25%, which was much higher than the interest rate guaranteed by the Deposit Insurance Corporation at that time.
The customer also claimed to have received the interest on the bogus deposit for 2 years through the statement of his checking account. However, he did not check the existence of the deposit through internet banking or mobile banking.
