NEW YORK, COMPASS.TV– The emergency function on the iPhone 14 automatically calls the emergency services when the user takes the phone on the roller coaster. As reported The Wall Street newspaper and Cnet, on Sunday (9/10) local time, there were at least six 911 emergency calls coming from the King Island playground in Cincinnati, United States.
Then there is also when users ride a roller coaster at Six Flags Great America near Chicago. All events have happened since the iPhone 14 went on sale in the country in September. Previously, the iPhone 14 was also rumored to automatically call emergency services when the phone dropped while the user was driving.
Quote from BetweenOn Tuesday (11/10/2022), Apple added an emergency feature on the iPhone 14, called Crash Detection or Accident Detection. Apple incorporates sensors and accelerometers so that the phone can detect danger, from the front, back, side and when the phone is upside down.

When an accident occurs, the phone automatically calls the emergency services, in the US it is 911. If the user does not hang up within 20 seconds, the phone automatically sends a message to 911 with the incident and location.
This is very useful when the mobile phone user has an accident. As happened recently, when Crash Detection sent an emergency message when a user’s car in Nebraska hit a tree. When the accident occurred, there were no witnesses on the spot, so there was no one to call for help.
In addition to the iPhone, Apple has also added this feature to the Apple Watch 8. The crash detection feature can be turned off via the settings or when the phone is in airplane mode.

Meanwhile, Apple has canceled plans to increase production of the iPhone 14 because the increase in demand for the phone was not as expected. They originally planned to add 6 million units to the iPhone 14 assembly in the second half of this year.
But Apple eventually determined that they would only produce 90 million units of the phone for the period. This quantity is approximately the same as last year’s production.
