There is no good news from the Stelvio, where the Italian national team was about to conclude the maxi rally scheduled for the whole month of June.
After the case of positivity to the serological test for a member of the technical staff, the results of the swabs made on Saturday by the ATS of Sondrio at the Hotel Livrio, where all the blues live, arrived. Tests that highlighted the the positivity of three people in the working group of the Italian Alpine skiing teams: only one technician (the first case) registered mild feverish symptoms and was immediately transported to the hospital in Sondalo, where he quickly got sick. A second technician tested weakly positive, but without symptoms; in addition to one of the athletes, positive but always in the absence of symptoms.
The FISI stressed “the effectiveness of the federal protocol which made it possible to record, report to the health authorities and isolate three cases of substantial asymptomaticity in the context of approximately 150 checks carried out in a very short time”, adding that it is “important to reiterate that athletes they are continuously monitored by the FISI and that, in the event of anomalies, the procedures to verify any positivity to the virus are triggered immediately, as per the national protocol “.
All the athletes and technicians in the meeting at the Stelvio are well, nobody shows feverish states or other symptoms; the three positives, returning to the asymptomatic series, will return to their respective homes for a period of quarantine. The activity will continue normally for all the other federal athletes and technicians, avoiding the risk of quarantine for the girls of the World Cup groups, who will return home as the Junior group and the European Cup men’s group. Training at the Stelvio until Tuesday 30 June for the Osservati, until 2 July for the junior girls and until Friday 3 for the women’s European Cup group.
