John Elkann chose a ‘family’ meeting, the one with the Fiat Executive Group, to respond to the many disputes raised against Stellantis in recent days. In front of a full audience he gave a long speech in which he remembered Fiat’s roots and the spirit that has fueled the company over the years.
The last 10 years
Not only that, however, because before he launched an injection at those who fuel what he described as ‘instrumental disputes’, he also highlighted the path that Fiat has taken continued in the last ten years: “Look at the last decades: on how Fiat Auto is at the bottom of the world ranking of car manufacturers”, he said, “Today the Fiat brand is the best-selling brand of a solid company like Stellantis: the fourth manufacturer in the world”.
The injection
Then the jab: “There are those who in the past months, in these days, seem unwilling to recognize the merits of all those who have always contributed to overcoming on challenges and achieving amazing results in 125 years of our Group’s history”.
And again: “We know, and you more than anyone else, what the truth is: nothing can be settled with instrumental disputes, complaints and fame. Nothing is built. Today, as in each of the difficult times in our history, we intend to deal with the problems by working seriously, together with our people.”
