Due to the tropical storm “Julia”, there are still 110 people hospitalized nationwide, said the director of the General Directorate of Civil Protection, Luis Amaya.

The head of Civil Protection explained that after the emergency a total of 112 shelters were set up, of which three are still active.

One of the reception centers is in Panchimalco, San Salvador department, which welcomes 12 refugee families; the second, in Cojutepeque, Cuscatlán with 10 families and another nine in Gualococti, department of Morazán.

The director of Civil Protection added that the red alert continues in 24 municipalities of the country, due to the effects caused by the tropical storm “Julia”.

“In some areas there is still a considerable level of humidity, in the areas of the Andes, the mountain range, the northern and central margins of the country, as there is a greater surface area of ​​trees and this causes the rains to seek these areas. to some extent, “Amaya explained.

Amaya added that to some extent, as they are a mountain range or mountain range, they tend to have a fairly uneven topography, meaning that at some point the likelihood of continuing to have landslides or any slope movement is in place. .
