Pertamina discovered ignorant methods used by drivers to misuse fuel. One of them is using helicopter mode. This mode is carried out via several vehicles, including private cars. At least fuel misuse was discovered when private cars filled up with fuel for more than 10 minutes.
It was explained that the private car had been modified. There is also a copying of QR Codes and vehicle number plates. There were also indications of collaboration between the perpetrator and the gas station operator.
“Helicopters here are meant to be refueled repeatedly using the same vehicle but using different number plates and QR Codes, so there is indeed falsification or duplication carried out,” explained Pertamina Patra Niaga President Director Riva Siahaan in a presentation at the meeting. hearing with Commission VII DPR.
In his presentation, Riva explained that there are several fraud parameters that must be watched out for in private vehicles, such as cars that fill up with fuel for a long time (maximum 10 minutes), the same car entering repeatedly, and long vehicle queues at gas stations.
Not only private vehicles, fuel misuse is also found to be carried out by tourist buses. The bus that committed the fraud filled up subsidized fuel for a long time, the same bus entered the gas station repeatedly, and there were long queues of vehicles at the gas station.
Apart from that, Riva also explained that there was illegal unloading of fuel tank trucks. This fuel misappropriation occurred when the Pertamina fuel tank truck stopped at the designated location.
Fraud can also be done by falsifying government documents for farmers and fishermen.
“Where for fishermen and also farmers who carry out collection or are permitted to carry out collection using jerry cans. This sometimes uses duplicate letters of recommendation. This is what we carry out monitoring and action together with BPH Migas and also law enforcement officials,” said Riva.
