The estradense Lucas Terceiro is on the crest of the wave. The publicist, photographer, director, creative … and some other things that we leave in the inkwell have a lot of cultural projects on their hands, some of them of great importance. However, something changes in his story when we ask him about one of his most personal projects. One of those with whom he does not earn a penny, but that allows him to enjoy his passions and which he recognizes is his “only vice”. “Videogames are a reference for me. Every week I have to have my dose, ”he jokes. That hobby was what led him five years ago to enter the world of cosplay.
“In 2017 I collaborated with the Hobbycon and that’s where I met Ale (Anhyra) and others. They saw that I made good photos and they suggested that I do a photo shoot. It was a way of combining the fashion photography work I was doing with cosplay. That allowed me to know another world in which I found great friends ”, recalls the estradense, happy to be able to get off the path for a moment. “They are very intensive sessions, which require preparation time. When I do sessions for actors you have a set of canons but here I have more freedom. Although you always give 300%, we are talking about a world that I know very well, about a hobby. That allows me to relax, ”he explains.
The internationally recognized cosplayer, Anhyra, was one of those who stood before her camera, in a session held in the Lagartóns area of A Estrada. “He took some pictures of me with the mag’har orc cosplay, which are super cool. He also took me out of Barbarian del Diablo 3. Lucas’s work is spectacular. You see quality in everything he does. He is someone who has a lot of eye. When you see his photos you realize immediately that they are his because they have a lot of personality, ”explains Anhyra.
More recently, Terceiro chose a place he knows well, A Estrada’s abandoned Summa Hotel, to recreate a post-apocalyptic world from “The Last of Us.” In this case, he did it to portray the Santander cosplayer Fabiola García, known as Nekaria. Characterized as Ellie, her session repeats iconic images from the video game. “It was the ideal place,” he acknowledges, happy to be able to do his bit to make this world known. ”
Anhyra: “Every cosplay I do is a new challenge”
The Coruña is considered one of the most important cosplayers in Spain and has already won important international awards, such as recognition for the best armor and best weapon in the important Blizzcom cosplay contest in California. “I started on this out of curiosity. This was the way to bring together many things that I liked. Making a super-realistic cosplay that looks like the original involves many facets. That artistic restlessness was the one that got me started ”, explains a woman who is in charge of making her outfits completely with different materials, a job that can last three months. “Each cosplay is a new challenge and it is a satisfaction to see it finished.” This world, however, has also opened new doors for him with Lucas Terceiro. “I was getting closer to makeup on FX for film and theater and now I’m working on a short with him and the Kraken Films team. One thing leads to another and opens up alternatives ”. “What I like to do the most is big armor. I did several Blizzard games such as Warcraft, I did the Devil, the Dragon Age … I am looking for designs that I like and that pose a challenge ”.
