There are no reports of Mysterious Hepatitis in Indonesia

The world was shocked by the discovery of mysterious cases of hepatitis that attack children in many countries. Not long ago, the World Health Organization (WHO) also confirmed the first case of death from mysterious hepatitis.

Until now, the WHO is still investigating the cause of the mysterious hepatitis. It is suspected that the mysterious hepatitis outbreak was caused by adenovirus strain 41.

Previously, on Saturday (23/4/2022) the UN agency revealed this rare case of hepatitis caused inflammation in hundreds of children. Even 17 of them needed a liver transplant.

Has There Been a Report in Indonesia?

Responding to this, the Secretary of the Directorate General of Public Health at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Siti Nadia Tarmizi, confirmed that there had been no reports related to the mysterious hepatitis disease.

“There have been no reports of mysterious hepatitis in Indonesia,” said Dr. Nadia when contacted detik.comThursday (28/4/2022).

Even so, Dr. Nadia asked the public to remain vigilant, especially if symptoms of jaundice appear that do not improve. The symptoms reported from cases of mysterious hepatitis, namely:

  • Urine with a brown color like tea water
  • Pain or discomfort in the stomach
  • Fever
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Stomach problems
  • Light stool color
