Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Citilink has temporarily suspended flights to and from Jenderal Besar Sudirman Airport, which is located in Purbalingga Regency, Central Java (Central Java). The stop was triggered by the low demand in the surrounding areas.
President Director of Citilink Indonesia Juliandra Nurtjahjo said the airline still serves flights every Thursday and Saturday.
“But some time now because demandit’s going down a lot on this route, so for commercial reasons we’re not being flown on week 3 dan week This October 4, “he told CNBC Indonesia, Sunday (24/10/2021).
However, Juliandra has not yet answered when the airline will return to serving flights to and from JB Sudirman Airport. Juliandra only ensures that Citilink will continue to actively serve flights through JB Sudirman Airport.
“Just a coincidence week 3 dan week 4 paxminimal,” he said.
Previously, it was reported that JB Sudirman Airport had not served flights since the end of September 2021. This was revealed by public policy observer Agus Pambagyo via his personal Facebook account, Sunday (24/10/2021). Agus has allowed CNBC Indonesia to quote the upload.
According to him, the only airline serving Jakarta-Purbalingga-Surabaya flights, namely Citilink, has stopped flights.
“I want to book for next week there were no flights. When I confirmed to Citilink it stopped flying. Hopefully the fate will not be like Kertajati Airport,” said Agus referring to the airport in West Java, which had minimal flights and passengers.
To CNBC Indonesia, he said the upload was meant to remind the government in the context of airport construction.
“There are indeed passengers, it’s proven,” said Agus. “Who’s there who wants to go to Surabaya by plane? You can take a car. It’s more expensive (if you use a plane),” he continued.
According to Agus, the airport development must take into account various aspects. JB Sudirman Airport is no exception.
“You already know how many people there are, okay, so which economic group, what are you doing, what are you doing? business man, right, so what are you going to build it for?,” he said.
CNBC Indonesia is trying to confirm the absence of flights at JB Sudirman Airport to the Spokesperson for the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, namely Adita Irawati and the Director General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Novie Riyanto. However, as of this writing, no response has been given.
