Head coach Atletico Diego Simeone spoke out after defeat from “RB Leipzig” (1: 2) in the quarterfinals Leagues champions.
“It’s been a long year, we haven’t played for 60 days. Returning to the Champions League is pressure. We rested for only a week and then returned to training.
We couldn’t play the way we wanted. I liked Leipzig. They were full of determination, enthusiasm and freshness. It cost us dearly. There are no excuses.
We gave all our strength on the field, got to the quarterfinals. We must honestly congratulate our rivals, ”said Simeone.
